My plan to have more red flowers in the garden is starting to pan out. Here are a few of these delights.
My red Daylily (Hemerocallis ‘Red Volunteer’) has flowered for the first time, which pleases me greatly. The plant is really big and I should be able to divide it when it’s finished flowering. Excellent.
My Lobelia ‘Queen Victoria’s are continuing to flower. They are very bright and interesting, though I actually like the foliage colour better than the flowers. More about that later.
Here is my red Bergamot, Monarda ‘Prairie Fine’ (below). The plant hasn’t gotten very big because it was a bit crowded until I freed it, but next season it should be awesome.
This is Dianthus ‘Passion’ (below), one of the new releases from Trents this season. I love the smell of it. It’s like sweet mixed with spicy.
